Embroidered aprons
An apron is the garment your customers look at most. In a café or restaurant it sits directly at eye level across the counter, which makes it the highest-value piece of branding in the room — and one of the cheapest to produce.
Styles
- Bib apron — full coverage from chest to knee. The default for kitchen and barista roles, and the largest embroidery area.
- Waist apron — short, tied at the waist. Front-of-house and bar service, often with pockets.
- Cross-back apron — no neck strap, so the weight sits on the shoulders. Comfortable for long shifts and currently the most requested style in independent hospitality.
Fabric
Poly-cotton is the practical choice: it survives hot commercial washing and dries fast. Cotton canvas and denim look better and age well, but shrink more and take longer to dry — better suited to a boutique setting than a high-turnover kitchen.
Placement
Centre chest on a bib apron gives you the most room and reads clearly from across a counter. On waist aprons, embroidery usually goes on the pocket panel or just above it. Darker fabrics — black, charcoal, olive — hide stains between washes and make most logo colours stand out.
