Embroidered T-shirts
T-shirts are the cheapest route to a branded team, which makes them the default for events, open days, charity runs, and summer uniform. Embroidery on a tee reads as more considered than a print — useful when the shirt represents your business rather than a one-off occasion.
Fabric matters more than on a hoodie
Lightweight jersey has little structure, so embroidery needs backing to sit flat. We use a cut-away stabiliser on tees as standard:
- 150–165gsm — light summer tees. Fine for a modest left-chest logo.
- 180–200gsm — a firmer, better-wearing shirt. Our recommendation for anything with detail.
- Ringspun cotton — smoother surface, cleaner stitch definition than a basic carded tee.
Keep the design compact
A dense back print translated straight to embroidery gets heavy and stiff on a thin shirt. Left chest, sleeve, or a modest centre-front design will look and feel better. If you want a large back design on tees, print is often the right call, and we will tell you so.
Colour
Darker shirts hide the stabiliser edge and make light thread pop. White and pale colours show every detail — good for crisp logos, less forgiving of busy artwork.
