Embroidered fleeces
Fleeces are the winter half of most uniform programmes. They pair naturally with polos — polo in summer, fleece over it from October — which is why we usually quote the two together.
Why fleece embroiders well
Fleece is dense and dimensionally stable, so it gives the needle a firm base. Fine text and detailed logos that would need simplifying on a lightweight tee generally stitch cleanly here. The one thing to watch is pile: on a deep-pile fleece, a topping film stops stitches sinking into the surface, and we apply it as standard.
Styles
- Full-zip microfleece — light, packable, easy to layer. The most versatile option.
- Quarter-zip — smarter, reads as a standalone top rather than a mid-layer.
- Heavyweight anti-pill — for genuinely cold outdoor work. Resists the bobbling that makes cheap fleece look tired within a season.
Placement
Left chest is standard. A back or shoulder logo is worth considering for teams who work with their backs to the public — delivery, site, and grounds crews in particular.
Anti-pill matters
If the fleece will be worn daily through a winter, specify anti-pill. Standard fleece pills quickly around the cuffs and under the arms, and a pilled garment undermines the branding it carries.
